ITINERARY

Note:

This itinerary is a guideline of available activities, but daily schedules and lodging can be customized.

Day 1 - WINDHOEK TO OKONJIMA

Transfer from Windhoek airport to the Okonjima Bush Camp in the Omboroko Mountains. The camp is home to the AfriCat Foundation, a wildlife sanctuary that helps to aid injured big cats, educate people about conservation, and protect habitat. Here you can see leopards and cheetahs. Take a guided tour and visit the night hide after dinner. (L,D)

Day 2 - OKONJIMA & ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Start with an early morning tour and then head to breakfast at the camp. Then head north to Etosha National Park. On the way, visit Lake Otijkoto's sinkhole to look for wildlife and then continue Mushara Outpost, where you will stay the next two nights.

Etosha is a large park with more than 100 species of mammals and 300 species of birds. We will search for elephants, lions, giraffe, and other animals. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - EASTERN ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Mix both relaxation and spectacular game viewing today. Your guide can help create a schedule with you for when and where to go in the park, as often as you want. In between game drives, enjoy the comfortable setting at the unique canvas and wood tents at Mushara Outpost. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - SWAKOPMUND

Transfer to the Mokuti airstrip for a short flight to Swakopmund, where your guide will take you to Cornerstone Guesthouse, where you will stay the next two nights. Swakopmund is a small resort between the desert and sea. This afternoon, wander the waterfront and explore the German colonial architecture, museums, craft galleries, and more. (B)

Day 5 - SWAKOPMUND

Today, take an educational tour to explore the sand dunes between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. Look for wildlife including many species of birds. (B)

Day 6 - WALVIS BAY & NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE

Today, you'll explore the scenic coastal area of Walvis Bay. Kayak with playful seals and keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, and even possibly a giant leatherback sea turtle!

After lunch, fly to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge and take time to explore the area or relax in the calm and scenic camp. Overnight for the next two nights at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - SOSSUSVLEI SAND DUNES & NAMIB DESERT

Get up early for an excursion to the Namib Naukluft National Park. Sunrise is the perfect time to photograph the beautiful dunes, the highest freestanding ones in the world. Your guide will open your eyes to how deserts form and teach you about the fascinating creatures and plants.

Enjoy a relaxing picnic breakfast in the shade and explore the rest of the park afterwards. After lunch, participate in another scheduled activity in the NamibRand Nature Reserve or relax at the camp. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - WINDHOEK & DEPARTURE

After breakfast, take one more tour of the park and then transfer to the airstrip to fly back to Windhoek. When you arrive, you'll be transferred to a local guesthouse to rest or enjoy the pool before heading back to the airport for your flight home. (B)
